Tendo Rashida (P.6)

When Tendo was just three years old, she lost her father, leaving her in the care of her mother. Sadly, a few years later, her mother abandoned her. In 2022, a fire started by a neighbor’s careless use of a charcoal stove burned down their home, destroying everything they had. This was also the last time Tendo saw her mother, who vanished without a trace.

After the fire, Tendo showed amazing courage and responsibility. To keep her three-year-old sister safe, she traveled about 382 kilometers to Pakwach in Northern Uganda to find a guardian. Now, Tendo and her sister live with their paternal aunt in Buikwe district. Their aunt supports the family by growing small crops for sale and personal use.

Tendo is a very social and active girl. She loves playing netball and is particularly good at Math. Her academic performance is fair, and she shows dedication and hard work in everything she does.

Tendo dreams of becoming a nurse one day. She wants to help others, likely inspired by her own tough experiences and the need for care and support.

Your support will give her the stability and resources she needs to continue her education and pursue her dreams.
