Lutaya Gift (P.2)

Lutaya Gift is an 8-year-old boy in Primary Two who lives in Kisigula Village with his father and stepmother. Life is not easy for Gift because his father is often away for long periods without telling anyone where he goes. This leaves his stepmother to take care of everything, and the responsibilities are too much for her.

Gift sometimes feels very lonely because his father is not around, and it makes him sad. Paying school fees is also a big problem, and sometimes they don’t have enough food or other basic needs.

In school, Gift is very active and does well in class. He also loves athletics and enjoys running. Gift dreams of becoming a policeman one day so he can arrest criminals and make his community a safer place.
